Curvy Design Market

We’re back!!

13 December 2020 – Bighouse Arts 9-11 Hocking St, Coburg North, 11am – 2pm

The Curvy Design Market seeks to bring independent designer fashion together with a plus-size audience.

It is a boutique-style market, usually held in church or community halls in and around Melbourne, Victoria. Due to popular demand, we expanded into regional and interstate areas in 2019.

This highly enjoyable shopping experience is for women who wear size 14+, so gather some girlfriends and come and try some amazing fashion that actually fits. We only seek out and attract designers who we think are exciting, unique and above all, size-inclusive. For more info about our designers check out their page.

For the first time, the 2019 Miss South Africa beauty pageant included participants who were more diverse in shape. This mean it included entrants who were what the modelling industry labels as “plus-size” because they were size 10 and above.
Miss South Africa 2019, Sasha Lee Olivier, was one of those plus-size models. Her reign was not without controversy. She faced body shaming from the press, including an article insinuating that she was either pregnant, or simply fat.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I don’t see a woman who could be described as ‘fat’ here, do you? My goodness, stories like these remind me that we still have such a long way to go.

Silk is so lovely to wear! I always think of it as such a luxurious fabric.

What do y’all think of the extended size range at Camilla? Jacqui looking gorgeous as always 😍

Just a quick pic of what I wore to the pool on Tuesday. My bathers are underneath 👙This is the gorgeous Take my Hand Kaftan from @camillawithlove another new addition to the wardrobe. I love being in Queensland so I can wear all this bright colourful stuff. However I do have a bit of a beef though. @camillawithlove have introduced extended sizes which is absolutely wonderful news for me. But ... I have been to three Camilla stores so I can try on said extended sizes only to be told each time they don’t have these sizes in stock. Well that doesn’t help me learn what size I need. Am I a 2xl or a 3xl or a 4xl??? My option is to purchase from online all the sizes and figure it out and return 🤔🤑 hmmm not sure about that one. What are your thoughts?
I was hoping for some more pool days but it’s been bucketing rain everyday. So what does one do if you can’t go to the pool? Go shopping of course. 🙊🛍 #gettingbored #camillawithlove #kaftanlove #poolsidestyle #calilehotel
